30 Years Around The Sun

Today is April 4. I’m officially two days away from starting my 31 first year on this planet.

Turning 30 was sot of like a wake up call to tell me that I was pissing my life away… Not exactly what I was expecting.

I thought I was doing good.

Turned out I was in fact dong good but in a wrong profession. What are the odds!?

When I was 17 I always thought that by the time I’m 30 i’ll have my life figured out. You know I imagined myself doing and having all the things that society wants us to have, good paying job, handsome husband, kids…

Well, life has other plans for me.

I realized that I don’t need to have it all figured out. In fact figuring life out on a day to day basis is why we are here. Our lives are not lived in the past or the future, our lives are lived in the now.

I’ve been neglecting my “NOW” for the longest time, I kept thinking that once I do this or that I can be happy… or I can be proud of myself once I achieve something…

My 20’s have been a bit of miserable and a lot of challenging, but it was also the greatest learning time and I wouldn’t change it for anything else.

I was once told that your 30s are the beginning of the apprenticeship of what you are going to be doing for the rest of your life. I believe it. It gives me hope that it is in fact normal to step away from running my own company to pursue other things that I’ve had on a back burner for almost a decade.

Will it be for the rest of my life? Who knows, we’ll just have to see.

But I do know one thing though, life doesn’t not end when you turn 30, in fact it has only just began.
