I use plain water in mine and they run cooler. I reblt my 8 hp updft carb; and it willnot idle at all:done it all,What next? It stopped suddenly during operation. Since the airflow does not have to make a right angle turn before the venturi in the typical down draft installation, the pressure losses associated with the 90o turn are eliminated. I don't think that adjustment is the main problem. It is normal for an updraft to loose a few drops of fuel following a failed choke assist start. Carb floods will not fire.
